[DRAFTS] Saving some posts for posting later date?
-
had idea for plugin or for core while posting on a real life forum today
the ability to save a post now to be brought back later to post next day
I thought damn i've gone to all the trouble to get all the info made up this post only to realise it's a day early, would there ever be an option to just save this post and click bring it back later

On a real life forum
I can already see you standing in front of a board. Anyhow besides my terrible joke I know you can keep the post alive by pressing the
+
on the bottom right of the screen to keep the post alive, but as far as I know there is no guarantee that it will save it for longer periods. I also think that this can be done as a plugin. -
There are two similarities (within core AFAIK) running on this board:
- when you do not explicitly "Discard" a post, it still is saved (on local machine I assume) and can be brought back by opening a similar composer (e.g. pressing reply to the same topic) later on.
- you can set-up "canned responses" within your profile, this way you can give it a title and manage its live-cycle by hand.
However I'm not entirely sure how well they work with new topics, but I assume they do.

yeah all these ways I'm familiar with.
I was thinking, crap whole post is made... Everything is done, butttt I can't click that [Submit] button.. even if I wanted to I'm going to get burned by forum users for being too early.
Perfect situation would be oh wow, the forum allows me to save as draft ? cool idea, I also notice you have this drop down arrow pointing down on the Submit button. Could def be used here, but maybe user can not see there, still perfect position really. Perhaps the drafts could be listed somewhere within the composer. Or a Bring back icon or some such ?

I with you there and can totally understand the point to a streaming forum like nodebb, still we all make mistakes and this would be a nice addition. Would save so much typing
