Deleted topics, comments

Every once and then I come across a topic or comment that says it has been deleted. if it has been deleted, I do not want to see it was. If I were running NodeBB, is there a way to hide, or disable that? Thanks!

Deleted posts/topics have a .deleted class added to them so you can add a custom css rule in ACP to hide them if you want.

@baris that is good to know. A follow up, does this means deleted topics/posts are not really deleted?

@baris in addition @Fastidious last question. It is important that the search crawlers don't see the deleted topics/posts (often spam)

@Fastidious yes deleted posts/topics aren't removed from the database they are just hidden. If you want to completely remove them purge them after you delete.

@prog crawlers just see "this post is deleted" like regular users. They don't see the actual content.

So... NodeBB never deletes the post? Does the delete, in fact, just "hide"?

@ldam Yes, delete just hides them from everyone except moderators.
