User grouping

This is probably a feature I would request. Even something simple like setting groups to be able to access / not access certain subforums... etc.

Understood.

We're looking into restricting access to subforums (possibly a whitelist), so the idea of a user group fits in well. I don't see it being particularly hard to implement either.

I was playing around on the member group things, is it possible for all user registered to be placed in a group initially. This will allows some categories to be hidden to them by default. Once they are added to specific group, they will gain access to it.

Current state: looks as though it cannot be done.

An ethereal "registered users" system group that contains all users. Admins will be able to use this to restrict anons from entering categories.
