Blog Comments powered by NodeBB

Great!!!!!!!!!!!!!
-
Awesomeeeeee. I can't wait for this. I've used Ghost before but it's lacking a comment feature so integration of NodeBB would be really nice. It just makes sense though.
-
Updated this so that you can add multiple blogs to your forum. You can have all blogs posting to one category, or you can set a unique category for each separate blog.
Also, it doesn't have to be of the same blog type, so you can do WP and Ghost, for example.

@psychobunny Does the blog "author" still need to be an admin? This popped into my head just as I was about to allocate you my entire internets allocation for August.
-
ahaha. well right now you have to be an administrator, but maybe I'll do a search for people in a "Blogger" group perhaps?
-
@psychobunny Maybe something less "hipster".
-
Done So either administrators, or members of the
publishers
group can publish articles nowEDIT: I'm a noob, I posted all this in the wrong thread. See this thread for the actual plugin + download link

@psychobunny 0.5.1- added the ability to merge topics... Eh? Eh? thanks a lot, I'll test this out and report back.
-
Let me know Haven't really tested this out a lot so be wary on a live environment.
(Rule of thumb: when we start using a feature on the community, that means it's relatively safe to use it yourself)

@psychobunny Added a few issues to the github.

Seems like NodeBB itself is SEO friendly.
Guys Is there any chance that NodeBB comments plugin is SEO friendly as well?
If yes could someone (@psychobunny) pls explain how?
I noticed it injects extra content via JavaScript and so I wonder if I am missing something.It is just few days here but I really love how it works! NextGen forum!!!! Top notch!

@rusticode Very good question!

The original topic will load noscript, so if you're linking back to the original topic at the very least the comments will still be scraped. Although like julian says, I do believe the googlebot can read it anyways
-
Thanks @julian @psychobunny!
It makes sense not to rely on the javascript loaded comments for SEO.
I think the issue can be addressed by adding multiple sitemaps to your robots.txt file (if you are sharing domains) i.e. Include links to your blog's and nodeBB's Sitemap.xml files, and Google will have no trouble finding your content.
PS. Getting started with nodeBB has been super cool! Thanks for the fantastic work @julian @psychobunny!

Supported by Google, Ask, Bing, Yahoo; defined on sitemaps.org.
Usage:
sitemap: [absoluteURL]
[absoluteURL] points to a Sitemap, Sitemap Index file or equivalent URL. The URL does not have to be on the same host as the robots.txt file. Multiple sitemap entries may exist. As non-group-member records, these are not tied to any specific user-agents and may be followed by all crawlers, provided it is not disallowed.

Awesome. Don't forget to let us know your site URL so we can post it on our "who is using NodeBB" thread
Edit: don't forget @baris he is usually too busy making NodeBB awesome to have time to post on forums
