This navigation, how to increase. I'm a newbie

Hi everyone,

i am currently in the move from a traditional forum to NodeBB. But i've realized there is no working plugin any longer which shows images in postings in a lightbox or fancybox instead opening a new browser tab.

The existing plugins aren't working any longer with the latest versions of nodeBB.

Any chances to get this done? I'm not good in programming, so writing a plugin on my own might take years

For many people, short URLs are very useful. And the URL title does not have much use. Many popular programs will preview the URL content.

I hope to display some content to users who have replied to this topic. Similar to Flarum's Reply to See plugin.
This is a very popular and useful feature.
So how to determine if a user has replied to a certain topic?

There are some codes / scripts in documentation. There is no copy icon/feature in that section. Sometimes code can be long and its a bit hard to copy & paste. By adding simple icon, it would be very usefull for user.

Hello everyone,

for testing purposes i have installed NodeBB successfully on a Ubuntu 24.04 LTS server.
So far everything is working, except the search.

Whenever someone is searching for content which is definitively posted in my instance, the search returns no results.
I've tried it with the DB search plugin and alternatively with solr running in parallel on that machine.
But independent from what is in use, the search returns nothing.

It's also not language dependend, i've tried it with german and english as well.

Any ideas how to get this running?
NodeBB is really a modern discussion plattform i would like to use, but a not working search is a showstopper.

I've recently installed NodeBB instance and would like to understand a few things I've seen here on the official NodeBB:

1. There are links with icons on the top right corner of this website's homepage or categories page, I would like to implement that on my instance as well and was wondering if that some sort of plugin or just bare code added in the settings?

2. I would like to use Facebook and Google auth and need some help settings that, maybe something i miss on the facebook end of things.

If anyone reading this have a spare minute to help out via discord it would mean a great deal to me, and much appreciated.

Now working on helping my community set up a possible alternative to our very useful Facebook group. Leaning toward WordPress/BuddyPress but open to (serious) suggestions.

I am trying to add the number of watchings of a certain topic to the total popularity calculation formula，is there a plugin that can view the total number of followers for a certain topic?

By default, my users go to their profile after login.
I would like that they go to the root of the forum.

Is this an option? I cannot find it.

I find that there's not too many plugins about tags.

Now, I'm building my website. I hope that users couldn't create tags by themselves but only use the tags that admin creates at the very beginning.
I've implemented the function for turning the input box into a click button to appear modal box for users to select tags.

However, I'm confused about how to solve these problems:

1. I hope to categorize tags so that users can choose according to different categories, how to solve?
2. For some categories, the user MUST fill in to submit, any solutions?
3. There is a field in the modal box where users can choose to fill in the input box, which will appear as like a prompt box above the post after submission. I have no idea.

If anyone has any solution or idea, please let me know.

Hi, I'm looking for plugins for ignoring post with specific tags.
I hope that when users ignore specific tags, they will not see any posts with those tags in any categories.
If there's no plugin solving that problem, could anyone give me some idea about how to implement it?

I installed NodeBB using Docker and the MongoDB database. After a successful installation, I accidentally deleted the Docker container of NodeBB, but the database still exists. After deletion, I re-created a NodeBB container. I filled in the previous database information in the database field and then clicked "Install". However, the progress bar didn't move for a long time.

Then, as soon as I click on the "Installer" in the menu bar or refresh the page, it will show "Internal Server Error".

I have been waiting with bated breath since Jan 1st for v4 to become main branch. With Julian saying a couple of weeks ago "it would be soon", and "v3.12.1 was last and would be locked for new features." Since there's been v3.12.2 ...
When v4 is main, easier to update than downloading alpha versions

My site is working without that location and I am not sure why is needed.
