Same deal. I am following these steps:

1. Go to: https://community.nodebb.org/user/[email protected]
2. Click follow
3. Get the success message:
   
4. State of the follow button changes to "Unfollow"
   
5. When I refresh, the follow button changes to "Follow" again
   
   (Just like the video above)

I'm curious about creating a simple mode that uses redis (for speed) as the cache, but then persists data on either IPFS or Ceramic Network.

The mod itself is easy from my branch, looking at the code, but I was wondering if there is some way to do it as a plugin?

That makes sense. Otherwise some ActivityPubs could be gamified to be 'reputation farms', to allow users to enter others with high starting reputation.

Seems we can mark it as a bug, then

When I follow, the browser (safari) is registering it as successful.

However when I refresh, it's showing that I haven't followed the person.

For some reason, it seems as if I am getting success follows, but they don't persist.

I haven't done anything special to get an account on mastodon or the fediverse. My account only exists on Nodebb.
