Late night crewThe Late Night Crew is FOREVER.
Hello julian
Hello psychobunnyI'm amazed at how far NodeBB has come since my last visit to this planet. Good times, I'm happy to see this forums continued success! Well deserved.
Now, for late night crew proper entertainment...... VITAS!

Some iu stylesIMO this is the exact look I don't want my NodeBB to be. You have this beautiful architecture ready to roll a modern approach, and people are going to want it to look like vb 3.8 from 7 years ago.

Late night crewwhat's up minions of the night?? Figure since I do a lot of my site stuff after wife and kid are upstairs asleep I would make a late night thread..
Watching the Miami Chicago bball game and testing NodeBB on my ipad both here and on my forum.. It's a different vibe.. Feels more social media than forums, digging it.

Late night crew@julian Of course. Years of php/mysql based forum experience and I don't want to log on to them now. I rather type by myself on a test forum seeding content because it flows that well.
@trevor I didn't care that it was not PHP/MySQL based but that intrigued me. I rather not horse around in the back end, that's one of the things I absolutely hate running vb communities, the constant bullshit.
Now that I've got the forum up other than working on the skin there is little to do other than why you log onto a community.. POST. 19 topics / 26 posts today on my test site today and I'm the only one there for now while I clean it up and get it a little more stylized.
I think that's what caught my attention so quickly. I didn't need to start another project. But once I saw the platform I wanted to.

Need some help please@julian
these all related to ubntu not centos.
@Outlawedoffroad
also this topic not perfect for CentOS, you are using ubntu too...and the link on github is not working...
Installing NodeBB on CentOSit should be fixed and should be step by step as for another tutorials are their.
and why not make a compatible auto install for cpanel. IMO most of people use cPANEL and one click nodebb install would be amazing.Actually all but the last 3-4 posts in my thread are 100% CentOS. It was not until after I spent countless hours trying to make it work I realized that I am not going to risk my 2 live forums on a development site. So I plunked down the 5 bucks and opened a Digital Ocean account to get rid of the headache.
I got it up and running almost exactly how I wanted it. But in the end the proxy issues presented when I have 2 live forums on the same server was more hassle than value so I moved the NodeBB site to ubuntu for the ease of use since it's what the developers are using here.
There is no "easy guide" yet, you have to put in a little work. Feel free to use any info in my thread to write up a CentOS guide for other users

Late night crewThis topic will never die.
Julian.. psychobunny.. hello gents. Love seeing how far NodeBB has come and I wish I was still in the forum game just so I could use this kick ass platform. Been thinking about ways to incorporate a forum into my day job lately so who knows, my client base is generally older so emails and zooms are sometimes all I can get out of them.. A forum? I may be asking too much!!
As we always do in the late night hours.. Here's the mighty Steel Panther from AGT earlier tonight.

[Solved] Updating to 0.4.3I can for the first time say..
Upgraded without any problems. 2 minutes in Terminal and I was rolling in .4.3
But that's more on me, than on you guys.

iMac DiedYou can service more than realized with Macs.. part of it is having the tools and balls to do it.
They wanted $225 to replace my iPad the baby threw down on a concrete floor and shattered. Ordered the parts and tools through Amazon for like $75 and did it myself one night in like 90 minutes after everyone went to sleep.
Sure my 27" iMac is a lot more work to take apart.. but once Applecare is done it's about getting a price quote from them, then comparing the DIY route.. No, not as easy as taking apart a typical Antec case for a PC or whatever but after doing that for 10-20 years I'm tired of constantly meddling.
Only upgrade I've done in 2-3 years is going to 16GB of RAM. Opposed to a PC where I'd be jonesing for video cards and CPUs like a crackhead every 3-6 months Glad to have shaken that addiction!!

[nodebb-plugin-openfantasy] Full-fledged RPG system for NodeBBI remember when I ran a BBS and had The Pit for my dial-up users to play. Kick ass game and this is a fun addition to many genre of forums.

Where to add custom javascriptI used the iframe code in a widget with good results. Why reinvent the wheel!

How to delete a userYou can have a generic account to swap them to like "Guest" which is how they do it on vBulletin but really the only accounts I've ever deleted are spam-bots.
