Julian.. psychobunny.. hello gents. Love seeing how far NodeBB has come and I wish I was still in the forum game just so I could use this kick ass platform. Been thinking about ways to incorporate a forum into my day job lately so who knows, my client base is generally older so emails and zooms are sometimes all I can get out of them.. A forum? I may be asking too much!!

I'm amazed at how far NodeBB has come since my last visit to this planet. Good times, I'm happy to see this forums continued success! Well deserved.

That's pretty much how all the old-school BBS's ran back in the day. I was running WWiV on C++ doing my own mods and compiles in the middle of the night after everyone logged in for their daily turns on the games.

The way information is now it's so much more accessible... almost dirty.

Never had any kind of performance issues. Always quick loading with no delays.

I can't say that for all of my vb run forums.

I remember when I ran a BBS and had The Pit for my dial-up users to play. Kick ass game and this is a fun addition to many genre of forums.

I have one PC here and it's still on Windows 7. I use it for gaming and website testing on client sites to make sure there is 100% compatibility since most of them are in the IBM/PC world and I know they're not on Macs like me.

What happened to Windows 9? LOL just skipping a version to jump on the bandwagon of being titled X?

Sharing a store with the phone market doesn't matter, I've never met someone with a Windows phone. Ever.

I love coming in every few weeks and seeing what changes are unfolding at NodeBB. This update looks fantastic and I'm happy for you guys with how much the community has grown since my first post.

A+++ now all I need is a f'n project so I can use NodeBB

If were gonna have a battle for porn domain NodeBB sites don't count me out just yet.

I have one from a HS band name, owned the domain for 10+ years, and it's vulgar and ready to go It was a site years and years ago, HTML based long before the rise of the CMS.. now it's just redirected to another site.

I played soccer with a guy who ended up a starting NFL QB. Granted we were in like 3rd, 4th, 5th grade at the time.

that above rant never ended haha.. they begged me to come back and fix everything they trashed and I walked. sorry guys but offering me a "piece of the business" when you are 500k in debt just doesn't make me feel like I'm ever going to get paid for my time

Watching the late NBA game right now while responding to some emails. Lakers really suck ass they're not making the playoffs this year.. Don't really care though as a Knicks fan.

Cheap, effective, can test for a week and dump it until next time, etc. I tried setting nodeBB up on my dedicated server and it was more hassle than it's worth and I didn't want to change services putting my bigger forums at risk. This is the perfect solution for me in the land of undecided projects

I've been going on the same $10 + bonus I put into Digital Ocean since I first came across the NodeBB site many moons ago. Not saying the freebies are not viable depending on the situation (aka a private forum for a few friends or whatever), but I know from running bigger production forums those free sites just can't handle it.

Hell even some of the cheaper paid solutions suck. One of my car sites started on GoDaddy with it's own account. Outgrew it in a week. Went to a new host with a shared server plan. Outgrew it 2 weeks later. Has been on a dedicated host for 3-4 years now running like a champ.

I've had up to 150 domains on one of my registrar accounts and for whatever reason I just can't help myself. I'm not a drug user, or smoker, etc.. so I don't have a "fix" I ever need.

But domains seem to do it to me. Maybe 50+ websites that are WIPs and I eventually lose interest because I wind up just working on them solo at night for a week or two and then move onto the next one.

With that said, what's the name of the FUNNIEST domain name you own that you may or may not be currently using? I'll tell you one of mine.

There was a long comedic story behind me buying the domain name originally you can read the story on the about page lol http://ihavediarrhea.com/about-ihd/ it was one of the most insane nights ever. Should have been a regular ho-hum event.. but then the poop took over this kids soul.
