Hm... not specifically. We don't have any facility built in for adding metadata to posts out of the box. However, the closest thing I can think of is a flag note, which can be associated with a post... sort of. That is, someone can flag a post, and then in that flag, you can append notes. They're only visible from the flags page, though (/flags)

Could it be that you have it installed? If it is not installed, then you will need to install it via npm. Connect to your server via ssh Go to your nodebb folder. Run the following command there: npm install nodebb-plugin-beep Go to your site, plugins, and activate the plugin. Reboot

@CaptainK Sadly users will do the easiest thing and teaching them sadly isn't going to work. Would be nice to have a setting that limits how deep quotes can go.

I'm personally not a fan of containers, but that's because I like to maintain control over my deployment. You sacrifice a certain amount of control to gain a different kind of control, and so I'm more comfortable setting things up on a bare VPS. Certainly many don't share this view, which is why NodeBB comes with a Dockerfile. I'm perfectly fine with promoting Ben Lubar's image to become the official image, as he uses our Dockerfile as far as I know.

@pichalite I selected the 'Hidden' button and the group is completely hidden, but I want the group to be visible to the administrator and the users who are part of it. I also want users to be hidden, but a specific user can only see users who are part of the same group with him. For these I need a new custom plugin, @julian?

Hehe -- glad you figured it out No clue why npm is sometimes serving old versions of our themes...

If you run ./nodebb upgrade it specifically updates both Vanilla and the current default theme, Lavender. so after a git pull, make sure you run that command and you should be good

Yeah we're looking into that + sorting replies by most upvotes. Similar concepts I'm assuming if we figure out one the other will be easily sorted out.
