In fact, what we want to do is to embed a grafana dashboard into that section to show data from another app that we have for the user. Grafana was using iframe but this latest update changes that to an API.

@crazycells From what I can tell, there aren't any videos on the board itself but links to youtube. I wondered if nodebb could handle video uploads itself. I would need to allow users to upload images and videos on their profiles, like a personal feed on social media. After doing more research, I see that images can be uploaded but videos have to be a link to the video. I see there are several embed plugins too. With that in mind, and since nodebb has an API, I can think of a few things that might work so need to look into those.

I can't seem to find much on how to have or enable private messaging between users with optional email alerts. Is there such a thing? I don't even see a chat option but I've read there is a built in one. Not sure what I'm not seeing so thought I should ask.

@julian My assumption is more nefarious Yes, depending on what the code is and how unsuspecting the target forum/service owner it. You'd think that would be a one time payment though. "Here, put this plugin on your site, it does this little thing and we'll pay you $200/month for that". It would not be user count based which is why I was thinking they are gaining more data when more users are providing it. I cannot imagine how many think they are making a few bucks every month but causing massive problems on the Internet unknowingly. @eeeee Good of you to spot this and even share it.

LOL, I thought a nodebb option was being mentioned. Yes, I usually have it set as a service but I wanted to monitor it for a while before doing that on the new server.

It's internal only but I'll see if I can get it opened for testing. I now see that some browsers are seeing the different images but why some still aren't is beyond me. This has to be a problem of caching somewhere and now unrelated to nodebb. I actually rarely suspect nodebb, it seems to be top notch code.

Basically, an upvote kind of thing could work but it might not be obvious to users. I need something that will be obvious to users, that they are upvoting a certain comment. Much better if the first post is the vote and they can comment all they want below that but vote on the first post.
