Custom search menu for one category

Would there be a way to build a custom search menu using drop downs for just one category?

Great, there is a way after all then, that's great to hear.
I assume a plugin and would there be any other components/plugins I would need to make this work?
Is there an official plugin that is a quick start to building a custom plugin or do I have to do it from scratch?
