Hi, I'm using wordpress

Currently, I can't change the category id to another category. It's always posting to category id 1

Currently, in plugins pages. When I finish installing a plugin nodebb auto load back the installed plugins tab to activate the plugin.
This is annoying. I can activate later after I install a bunch of plugins.
I suggest to stop load back the installed plugins tab. Just let the user decide when they should activate the plugins.

@julian I just take a look at custom-header plugin and just doing like him. Create an api save page which call this function and I think this should work fine. But I don't know how to render a widget with data get from the db

@julian I'm just working on local not publish yet . My idea is simple. A quote rotator plugin will create a simple widget with timing count down for each quotes with author. Everything will be set in ACP and store in DB. My futher idea is allow user can use this to push a quote to the widget with some cash via plugin cash.
My problem is I still wonder how to store the data to db and get it back in widget.

Just wondering what are needed to build a plugin for nodeBB. And I think many beginners in here will be asking, too.
I'm trying to build a plugin with a simple function which is storing data from ACP to DB and get it back to the widget and still got errors for ages.
I have only experience in JS, CSS, HTML, PHP, SQL and still a beginner with nodejs and noSQL.

@peter for more details, when you restart/reload the forum in the ACP or in CLI, it will ask you to refresh the page to apply the changes such as templates... NodeBB is non-reloading template system, everything is loaded when you first load the forum. It just reload the data when you click the links or have a new data push to it then it render with preload templates.

@peter It's just normal. It's because in package.json doesn't have repository field.
Just ignore it, it should still works fine.

@Tan-Nguyen should write about the widgets system of nodeBB. Some kind of the most different thing I have seen in a forum system.

@a_5mith yeah, even in new version he has made it can hide from the anonymous and not break the forum. But it's funny that this plugin will not work if I place shoutbox's widget in global header. Still have to disable it for anonymous.
Anw, that's the solution for now
