@nuintari definitely one for the virtues of automation, to the extent that my job duties these days often explicitly involve automation.
But automating ends up being its own trap for my brain, so for myself personally my meta-system makes sure there are always manual steps to hook into and sustain interest.

@randomgeek yes! something we are good at, but driven by fear, and the need to fit into cultural expectations.
I think the root of it is how we feel about ourselves. Being frequently at odds with how society functions is hard to overcome.

@funkatron there are definitely days I do not feel like "a delight to have in class, but–"

@overflo for common English usage as I understand it:
"Spectrum" or "visible spectrum" is used to describe all colors. At first, that sounded to me like it poetically described all possibilities of neurodivergence. But it also sounded vague.
"Gamut" is less common, but often describes whatever portion of the full spectrum can be perceived in a given color model or display technology. So it ends up being less than "literally every color" but often more than we imagine for old nerds like me who still map colors to RGB. I liked that concept of strictly bounded but still bigger than you'd expect.

@overflo I typed all that up from memory so it does show how I was thinking. But here's more formal information about "gamut" in color theory:

@ElectricDryad there are little useful nuggets here and there but yeah there's also a strong need to split those out from whatever's being sold to you.
I falter constantly at that too.

@randomgeek thank you!
This is actually interesting for me -
@overflo It's fascinating stuff to me too! It gets dense and technical quick, but I like the pretty pictures. And at least now I know why I could never get exactly the colors I wanted in CSS with RGB hex codes.

@randomgeek it’s no silver bullet. But I find a cut down version of Bullet Journaling helps. There are still things I just can’t seem to get done though….
-
@haakon I've a strong hunch that some things not getting done is normal / typical / whatever they call it, but our expectations are so trauma-loaded we don't give ourselves the grace to recognize it.
