@stux Unfortunately many business and companies have a small team, and they will always go where the engagement rate is highest, not what is the best platform. We had to ask #TheGreenParty to turn on federation option so that we can network with them even after a long time of asking them to do the right thing and #JoinMastodon, they have joined #bluesky. The networking effect is the biggest at play, and many more people will likely leave Mastodon for Bluesky.

@matt @stux Well many thanks for your support. We don't like Facebook or bigtech either, nor take corporate donations either. Thus, we are able to act in the electorates interests. A bit like a partner rather than an adversary. We are asking those on Bluesky to follow Bridgy fed as it boosts everyone's engagement. Win-win.

My spouse and her groups are all moving to Bsky. Couldn't get them to understand Mastodon or the fediverse and everyone they know jumped to bluesky because it seemed more familiar and most people they already knew were on it. There doesn't seem to be an equivalent to the "marketplace" there though, one of the main things they use it for.

If you setup a PDS you still rely on a BIG part of the Bsky services for it to even work

Not by a loooong shot is it something standalone like Mastodon for example

Because I caught only the tail end of the conversation, can you explain in a sentence what Threads are doing wrong, or might do wrong? I'm not a Meta fan, but also not a fan of blocking others, so curious on the details of why?
