When you refresh the page, you can edit your message. Try without refresh page.
After opening the chat, send a new message (to a room available), will not be edited.

@sanatisharif Haha... I can't. Not my repository. You will have to wait for the next release of NodeBB to get the new version or make the changes yourself manually on your setup.
