Yea, I seriously don't understand how markdown is the composer that this software chose for the default. The average user does not know markdown. Most people just want to click stuff and have it work. I can tell you that the biggest complaint in my forum is the composer. Explaining to people that you can just "simply" put a > next to every new paragraph, including the empty sentences, is easy...doesn't not go too well. I really like this software, but some of the default core decions are hard to understand. You have to go digging around for multiple plugins just to get this software to the default state of what other forums provide. Why is Bold and Italicize in the default composer, yet not quote?
yes, markdown is not user friendly, some people tried to ge composer redactor working but it ended with low community support and now near abandoned
