Damn.. was going to transfer my forum over to this because I love the style but I cant if this isnt a part of the forum yet. Guess I'll go the Xenforo direction as much as I would like to be different lol

There would need to be a plugin to allow enhanced group permissions first, since you want to go extensively.
Then there could be a subscription plugin.

This would be quite interesting, perhaps someone will take it on.

You'd be better off using Stripe as a payment gateway, it utilises an API to take payment, still requires an SSL Certificate, but you don't need to be PCI DSS compliant, because you're not storing card details. (Creates a token, and you store the token, either for recurring payment, or one off)

We also use Stripe, haven't looked back after I saw their amazing documentation.

Just to let you know, we had a client who was interested in having this plugin built at some point. It ended up being out of their budget so the idea was dropped. It's not at the top of our priority list right now but it's not too hard to build, maybe with enough interest we will consider working on it
