Differences between HTTP and HTTPS versions

Hi all.

I have a forum that is having a lot of trouble with images.

1. A lot of uploaded images (avatars, logos, etc) do not show on the HTTPS version of my app.
2. I (user created in command line) can't change my profile picture after having changed it once before. Other users and admins can change theirs, but other admins can't change mine either. The changes appear to show on HTTPS, but not HTTP.

Any thoughts on these quirks? Thanks in advance.

Any rewrites or redirects in use? We sidestep this issue altogether by redirecting all requests on http to https. We find the overhead minimal.
