@erty You see how the full URL of this page is https://community.nodebb.org/topic/12182/transliteration-links? Well the last part isn't necessary. https://community.nodebb.org/topic/12182 will redirect to this page as well. So you can share that link instead.
Better yet, you can right-click on the timestamp next to the username for any individual post and copy that link, which will then redirect people to exactly that post in the topic. For instance, https://community.nodebb.org/post/67186 redirects to my first post in this topic.
Of course, we do have docs so you should try it yourself just back up everything first!
Edit: to answer your original question, we do plan on building an upgrade button into our hosting plans control panel - right now we just upgrade customers manually. It's probably impossible (or hard) to make an app upgrade itself via acp, we would need to make the acp a standalone application (we've toyed around the idea, but not worth the development time)
Thread tools: Edit poster/adopt post
The admin should be able to switch the owner of the post. (right now I have orphan posts left over from import and the only way to change their owner is to use the redis-cli). Probably not a very popular/useful feature in general, but should be simple enough to implement because why not?
