I just started with nodeBB this week.
It's really well done and the documentation is excellent!
Here I have my development forum working:
I'm wondering if it would be easy to "plug" the login function on my existing MySQL database that contains user/password so that users do not have to create 2 different account for the forums. I'm wondering if it's possible with a plugin or something like this. I could also make a webService if that's a easier with nodeBB. And for "register", I would redirect user to my normal sign up process.
@maximus123 it's possible, but it might require editing core.
You might just want to copy the data over.
It would probably be easier to just set up a sync between redis/mongo and the SQL server.
Hey thanks for the heads up.
I will probably not bother if it's too complex, the password are encrypted also so it may be hard to do.. I guess i'll use 2 different account and not waste time on this
@maximus123 migrating the old data shouldn't be too difficult.
Yeah I could copy my user inside Redis but what is hard is when new user sign up in MySQL, to replicate this inside Redis
Thanks for your help,
