Does the Fediverse give you hope?
-
Reddit is more diverse. The same kind of cynicism exists there too but it's dilluted by all the other content so it's easier to ignore. Here that is less the case as majority of the content is news articles.
It depends how you use these platforms. On reddit, I go to a few somewhat niche subs (via a direct bookmark link) so I don't see any content outside of those specific niches.
On lemmy, I use this account for news/global politics, but I also have an alt where I only access content from subscribed communities and there is minimal politics.

The Fediverse is a sewer of antisemitism, and antisemitic censorship
How so? And what do you define as "antisemitism" and "antisemitic censorship"?
-
It's not just Lemmy. I was thinking more like Mastodon. Tbh I haven't tried frendica, but I haven't heard of anyone actually using it.
At least pixelfed defaults you to the main instance so you don't have to think about it if you don't want to. Although the official android app hasn't worked for me in ages.

It's nice, but it doesn't really give me hope. Lemmy is good because it's not mainstream. Once it got relevant, it would turn into today's reddit. And if it, by chance, evolved into relevant opposition, I believe it would be easy for billionaires to destroy, despite the decenzralized character. It could also be used for curbing the opposition by gathering information about it. There's no way to hide from people with enough money.

Lemmy, the Fediverse, and open source in general too. Every time bullshit happens I find myself more and more replacing closed systems with community-developed and community-run systems. It’s not only the giving back/contributing/being part, and the openness, it’s also that this cannot be taken away so easily. Taken by buying the company, a software update, agreement change or the fact that someday you may not be able to pay your monthly fee and loose access to all your stuff.

No one is forcing you to be around all of us "conservatives" who suck.

As drag said, the technology is great. Drag believes in the mission of the Fediverse. It's just that a lot of it is infested with power mods and transphobes. If we could get rid of that sort of person, this space would be much better, wouldn't you agree?

If I were surrounded by a bunch of people I thought were horrible, I would leave. I hear there are other Fediverse servers out there.
If you're into masochism, you should really get people's consent first.

If it's true that you avoid people you don't like, then perhaps drag was wrong to think you didn't like drag. Drag has in the past advised you to block drag, and it seems you've decided not to. Drag is flattered. Perhaps you've decided to respect the "they" part of your child's she/they pronouns. If so, you're very welcome for the push. Drag has always believed that hearing the experiences of trans people makes others more likely to respect differences in gender presentation.

Cool, you didn't actually read what I wrote in an effort to make a very poor attempt at a witty retort.

I know you have a lot of sockpuppets, but you're just one person.

Well it's only fair, since drag asked if you'd like power mods and transphobes to be removed from Lemmy, and you didn't answer.

Hope ?
Maybe, maybe not -

You know, drag realised something a while ago.
Any transphobic troll, who thinks drag is one of their own, would want to "expose" drag. They would want to erode the trans community's trust in trans people. They'd want the public to believe that neopronoun users are trolls. They'd think drag wants it too. They'd engage in kayfabe - a fake fight, a manufactured drama, to make the public distrust trans people.
So drag believes you're being quite honest when you say you think drag is a troll. And you want to "help" drag, you want to finish the "con". You don't want the community to accept people like drag and every other queer identity. You want to start a fight and convince the community to turn against ourselves.
This is a fake fight. You think you're on drag's side.

Nope, I know I'm not on the side of someone who trolls the queer community.
Also, the only thing I would like to help you with is how to find a different Fediverse server so you don't have to torture yourself be being around all of us horrible conservative bigots who are just so mean to you. Would you like help with that, Attack Helicopter?

Right, you're not a troll, you just act exactly like one. You sow suspicion and conflict in the queer community and refuse to let your child use their chosen pronouns because you're such a huge ally.
