I like having Bluesky because it is a non-Twitter, non-Facebook space where I can hear from all my friends who are unable or unwilling to use Mastodon (a site with real barriers to entry).

@dgoldsmith neither of these options describes my view. I don't want to interact with a community that has access to the quote post verb

@josuetorres @mcc Id say everything things. Choosing an instance, people claims it doesn’t matter but it absolutely does. People don’t know how important it is when they’re faced with a decision. Gatekeepers. People have been doing social for decades but only this space does people feel comfortable harassing and telling people how to use their own damn accounts. Lack of Black and Brown people. They are culture drivers and many mastodon users have admitted to not wanting that, they expect Black & Brown folks to capitulate and assimilate. Finding content is important to people, be it content they enjoy or content they could potentially be exposed to and enjoy.

@mcc @dgoldsmith Do you mean outside of your instance? I’m a little confused seeing as plenty of clients and Fedi platforms have long used quote posts
