Installing NodeBB on a VPS with dependencies installed is very easy. You need to type a few commands in the terminal. The skills you would need is almost same as ability to copy paste commands from available tutorial. Try Ubuntu as OS. Good luck.
What is the VPS requirements to run nodebb
-
Hey i would like to know what would be the VPS requirements to run a board with medium traffic .
How resource consuming is Nodebb ?
-
Difficult to say, depends what you class as medium. The better question here is how many posts/topics/users do you have, as they'll be what takes up the space on your VPS.
I have a forum with 28,000 posts, 500 users and about 3k topics running on the 512mb $5 droplet in my signature, but it's cutting it close, I'm going to upgrade in a month or so. The $5 VPS from Digital Ocean is 512mb of RAM and a 20GB SSD. NodeBB supports Redis, which is stored in RAM, or Mongo (which is slightly slower, but stored on the hard drive)
