Im assuming that can run the required node js right? What error did you get, do you have any idea of what part it failed at?
From my experiences the admins on here don't usually get involved in private installs but @phenomlab (who has sudonix.org help site) has been incredibly helpful to me in the past. -

I'm assuming you are on a VPS?
I've only installed one site using NodeBB, but it did not seem that hard. I'm about to head off to a nap (been up for 28 hours) or I'd volunteer to help you immediately.
If you can't find anyone in the next 10-12 hours hit me up and I can probably help out as long as it is just a simple install of NodeBB and using nginx as the proxy. If you have CloudFlare in front of it that you will have to take care of yourself most likely, but there is not that much to it. -
