Unexpected letter "s" on top of Latest Users widget

I was trying to place a Latest Users widget in the sidebar section of the categories page, and this unexpected letter "s" showed up on the very top of it and I can't seem to find how to remove it. I tried placing the widget in different parts of the page and the problem isn't solved, neither is it when I placed the widget inside containers.
As shown in the figure above, the letter appears as a sole "s" without being part of any levels in Inspection. Nor it is correspondent to any localization (in case of which I may be able to fix the problem by customizing localizations with the customize plugin). It's just......there.
I wonder if I am the only person who ran into this problem, and it would be extremely appreciated if any kindhearted person can provide some clues to how this problem can be fixed. It has been troubling me for quite some time now : (
