Test Suite for the Fediverse
-
One interesting thing to come out of fediverse development is a concerted effort to build out a test suite for up-and-coming implementors, of which we are one!
@[email protected] and @[email protected] (among others at @[email protected]) are showing off a sneak peek of their testing suite tomorrow at 11:00 Pacific, 14:00 Eastern.
I'll be there to see what's up. Good luck on the demo tomorrow! No pressure

@julian Take a look at https://verify.funfedi.dev/
This tool is already working and used by developers.
-
@silverpill @julian This verifier has been a godsend for me. Thank you for creating it and making it available to everyone.
-
@benpate @julian It was created by @helge (and there are other interesting things at https://funfedi.dev, for example support tables)
-
@julian @baris From minor over the shoulder watching of this activitypub implementation.
It does looks like NodeBB is going to need an expandable stat-badge-total for shares/like etc. form a UIUX point of view mid posts, surely thing will become massively untenable if you have screens of "shares" on a busy spot.
I'm sure you've got that on a long finger to-do down the line list

Yes... that's something I didn't realize until I pushed the code out to this forum. Representing shares/announce/boosts as a topic event works but doesn't scale out well
-
@julian Custom NodeBB in-post tickers/counters > click to view >>> I'd suggest a popup actually! (re: help menu modal in composer)
No on screen UI expand jumps, quick peeks n'stuff.
Well you'll get there, build the to-do list and it will (eventually) get done.
-
@julian yes exactly that. You already have the solution!
You can the. decide if you want to list avatars and names or avatars only or have a second click on the pop up “show usernames” but tucking it away solves the overall issue nicely.
