Updating meta tags in a custom topic template

I have a custom template for certain topics that are intended to be articles. These articles have some custom attributes such as headerImage and summary that are set through the api when they are generated. Where would I go to ensure that the appropriate meta tags such as description and og:image are updated to reflect the custom attributes?

I think you can do it in the hook filter:meta.getMetaTags https://github.com/NodeBB/NodeBB/blob/master/src/meta/tags.js#L147
