nodeBB topic deleted but still getting indexed in the sitemap

I deleted certain topic from NodeBB with admin access now I am seeing this

Study ____________ (topic)/topic_id

This topic has been deleted. Only users with topic management privileges can see it.

This topic's URL is present in the sitemap.xml file, which is affecting my site's SEO.
So I wanted a solution to update this indexing in the sitemap or how to update <meta name="robots" content="noindex, nofollow"> in the nodeBB for the deleted topics.

Topics on the sitemap are filtered here https://github.com/NodeBB/NodeBB/blob/master/src/sitemap.js#L132, unless you gave guests the View deleted posts privilege they shouldn't show up in the sitemap.

The sitemap is also cached so it would take some time for the entries to disappear from the sitemap.
