Does the API provide access to a subset of categories when a user is not logged in

I have a requirement to be able to expose specific categories of topics to non-logged in users.

Is this currently supported, and does the NodeBB API provide access to such categories?

Yes, you can set category based privileges in the acp. There is a guests system group that is used for non-loggedin users.
