new user registration email loop NodeBB v3.1.0

When a user registers on my forum,
they get stuck in a loop trying to validate their email.

The validation email is sent, but when the Click here to confirm your email address → button is clicked the .../register/complete page is opened and in the console I get the following error

[Warning] error loading forum/registerComplete (nodebb.min.js, line 8)
@https://myforum.com/assets/nodebb.min.js:9:9653

If the user logs out of the new account, then presses the Click here to confirm your email address → button in the validation email, then the email is validated.

I am using a Harmony Child theme, but haven't touched any registration templates...
