    @Topper Sorry, finally I figured out how to look at the database ! I just switched to PostgreSQL and used Beekeeper to actually see it. Thanks !

    Why new accounts created by api doesn't work with nodebb-plugin-session-sharing

    Hello,
    I created some accounts with the api/v3, but those accounts can't log in by email on the forum, and consequently can't log in with session sharing plugin.

    I searched a long time, because this used to work on nodebb v1.15.
    But on v1.18, some db objects are only set after the call of confirmByUid function :

    ['email:uid', uid, currentEmail.toLowerCase()], ['email:sorted', 0, `${currentEmail.toLowerCase()}:${uid}`], [`user:${uid}:emails`, Date.now(), `${currentEmail}:${Date.now()}`]

    So you have to confirm each account before the plugin "session sharing" works with them.

    To resolve this, i made a custom plugin and used the "confirmByUid" function :

    library.js :

    const Users = require.main.require('./src/user') var Plugin = { onCreateUser: function (postData) { const { user } = postData; Users.email.confirmByUid(user.uid); Topics.markAllRead(user.uid); } }

    plugin.json :

    "library": "./library.js", "hooks": [ { "hook": "action:user.create", "method": "onCreateUser" }, ]

    Afaik if you don't set it manually we still create a cookie with a domain derived from the url value in config.json

    I'm not sure if this has anything to do with the issue, but I had a few errors while setting up NodeBB initially, which I had to address.

    Wow, um, big red flag there. How did you install NodeBB in the first place? It may be wise to start from scratch and reinstall with correct permissions from the get-go. You absolutely should not use sudo to install or run NodeBB. The only installation-related things you need root access for are nginx configuration and maybe changing directory privileges before installing NodeBB.

    What OS are you installing NodeBB on? Are you following any tutorials or instructions?

    My OS is Ubuntu 18.04 and I followed a documentation from your website. I started from scratch and it's running fine now! I assume the guide I used must have been outdated, which led to some errors. I must say that it might make sense to clean up the documentary and make sure that only one version of the installation guide for every OS exists to avoid confusion.

    You know, all the public files are minimized into what we call nodebb.min.js file, in this case, try to search text from nodebb.min.js to see if anything are embeded into this file.
