What is the recommended form of backup for my forum [On windows]
@chez You'd want to backup the NodeBB folder where you have all the assets installed, plus the MongoDB database, which you can do with Mongodump
I need to do the same thing pretty soon as I'm coming out of testing phase into live, so will share a script as soon as I have it.
Might want to check out relevant "Back up your data" bits from the upgrade docs:
Ensure you've got all yer' bases covered.

@fevzikorkutata I don't understand what you're saying.
That fix is in 1.17.0 so you shouldn't have run into that issue if you went straight from 1.0.3 to 1.17.0 as I recommended.

I believe it's possible to run a migration script as an "append" instead of a "nuke and replace".
You'll have to ask @akhoury more about that, unfortunately 😦

@julian Supporting just one use case would give the possibility to anyone with a cheap vps dedicated to nodebb to adapt to it.
If it could backup all configurations and installed plugins, with a way to restore it in another fresh installed instance, that would be very good.
