Twitter Embed Solution Possible? - ns-embed & embed plugins

Hey @The-Worms @Nicolas @ all @ anyone - do we have a solution to get the Twitter embed to work on nodeBB 1.13.x-1.16.x ?

Both plugins appears to be the same but nodebb-plugin-embed seems to be most up to date.

Yet twitter appears to be still broken past 1.13.x ... I can not get it to work on 1.16.x

Can we rule our other aspects, did twitter do something, is there an issue with some other component that is not nodeBB or the plugin, the nodebb-plugin-embed youtube embeds work., have not tried any others yet.

Appreciate any and all replies in advance. Thank you.

nodebb-plugin-twitter

on 1.16.2 without any problem. Give it a try.

Ok great that worked, installed via CLI.

Totally forgot about it @crazycells mentioned it ages ago but it was no longer visible searching for plugin via the find-plugins in ACP.

How is this plugin long term as it seem to be archived, does this indicate no future dev, maybe it can be forked and someone can keep it alive if other plugins do not reach a solution.

Forgot about this nifty plugin to solve same problem and it has dug me out of a hole of my own making, for the second time!

Works in 1.17.2 too!

I’ve had limited success with the plugin nodebb-plugin-twitter, nodebb-plugin-ns-embed and its various forks in the sense that the embeds failed to load so addressed this with a custom function which I'm using on my own forum.

This not only works in the same way as the NodeBB plugin, but will also render client-side so does not pile up in terms of resources on your server
