@razibal I've changed how this works on the develop branch, instead of checking the online status it will check if the user has already read the chat, this should cause an email to be sent to all users who haven't seen the chat message.

I'm reporting this here first (instead of Github) in case it's not really a bug.
Please correct me if I'm wrong but as far as I can tell, this setting is only for the digest email. However, the wording is confusing and it makes it seem like all email notifications (replies, chat, etc) get turned off. I switched this off and NodeBB still seems to send notifications.
Suggestion:
Email Digest (instead of Email Subscriptions)
Disable digest email (instead of Disable subscriber notification emails)
