Can't increase maximum post length above 32767 characters

I try and change it in the ACP (Settings>Post>Maximum Post Length) but still get the warning.

And too many words are posted in one post, which will cause the page to not work properly，Page layout will also be confusing.

What happens when you change the value and hit save? Do you get error messages? When the refresh the page does it go back to the old value?

It saves the new value in the ACP just fine and refreshing the page still displays the new value in the ACP. However the old value is displayed in the error message i get when trying to make a (rejected) post.

Additional info: What I'm trying to post (in a code block) has 108710 characters
