Before we left for preschool this morning, my 4-year-old stopped in front of the table where I left my #FOSDEM stickers. She perused them, picked one up and said "I'm giving this to M" (her best friend).
What did she pick?
"Make art, not billionaires".

@_elena Imagine if you had seen our smiles as we read that post. Photoprism and Immich are great for backing up photos from phones. I don't know if either of them was at FOSDEM.
@harmonicarichard not sure but I do have my own well oiled system for backing photos - think: 3 cameras and 3 phones, 10k photos a year on average
I think I will write about this at some point, because a good offline photo system is a form of digital sovereignty IMHO -

@_elena @tommi confermo, anch'io non li avevo visti al primo passaggio perchè c'era una notevole calca al banchetto, poi ripassandoci davanti ho capito cos'era e sono rimasto 10 minuti a prendermi tutti quelli del fediverso

I did not realize and missed it but I am looking forward to watching the recording.
@julian I found that it can be temperamental at times, especially after updates. I still enjoy experimenting with it.

But alas, switching costs, hmmm
@julian I'm using Raspberry Pis for my experimenting, and tailscale. It keeps the cost of experimentation down. I do have nextcloud on an Infomaniak instance.
