upgrade to v1.8.1 have this problem

SOLVED
Found the solution. Still had proxy directives in nginx config envs other than location / {}. So it was again an error introduced by an nginx config deviating from the recommendation by https://docs.nodebb.org/configuring/scaling/ .

@hoang6 go in to your nodebb folder, the logs are inside the logs folder, open output.log and paste the last 20-30 lines which should show the crash.

@Eric-Ladner No, it doesn't upgrade the plugins... or I should say, it didn't used to.

More recent versions of NodeBB call ./nodebb upgradePlugins as part of the upgrade process, and that will upgrade plugins (to whatever version nbbpm says they should be upgraded to)...

However, those plugins that aren't registered with nbbpm won't be touched by ./nodebb upgradePlugins.

Not unless the shared hosting provider gives you some command line access and will let you install nodejs, and run several npm commands. Plus they have to have MongoDB or Redis access for database. 😛 Most shared hosting providers don't have the software necessary for running nodebb, and they won't let you install it.
