Unique visitor stats
-
So my site has been publicly accessible for about 2 weeks now, and one of my posts has more than 1.2k visits, another about 800 within the past days.
But with all that, the Unique Visitor stats on the ACP home page shows that I have 12 unique visitors today, 67 for the week, and 148 for the month and all time. I know all that can't be right because as I'm writing this, the forum widget stats shows that I have 30 visitors online (28 anonymous). And it has been like that for two days. Here's the screenshot for the stats in ACP. This, btw, was from yesterday. So, how reliable is NodeBB's unique visitor tracking? Pinging @baris, @psychobunny and @julianlam
Along the same lines, I put Piwik and Quantcast tracking code in the footer.tpl, but it's barely showing anything visitor activity. Looks like NodeBB does not play nice with analytics tags.

It's pretty easy to increment the 'views' of a topic, by holding down F5 for about 3-4s I increased the views of this topic from 11 to 54
And since you have many bots around on your site as you mentioned within other posts, they may just create many requests... -
Bots only register and never return to the site again. They certainly don't count in the number of Views.

And by repeating the same for more than that time, the view count is now almost 400. Note, however, that if that is actually refreshing the page, it will get the perpetrator in trouble with Google, if the site is running Google ads.
