What should I do to make my forum accessible online?

I am really beginner in the field and but I would like to do my forum with NodeBB, but I do not know how to make it accessible online, I saw that it needed a reverse proxy if I'm not mistaken but I do not know how it works. It would be nice for you to explain me, I thank in advance the charitable souls who will take the time to ask about my problem.

I'm doing this on the documentations, but when I access the domain from my browser, it tells me that the domain does not exist...

did you check that your domain resolves to your server? dns?

Do you have a domain? What is it, and where does it point to right now?
