Is there a list of the most popular (currently installed/functioning) plugins out there?

https://packages.nodebb.org/stats contains a list of the 5 most downloaded plugins in the last 7 days. But a downloaded plugin can be deactivated and deleted 2 minutes later because it doesn't meet expectations (or doesn't work at all).

(BTW this 1 post every 5 minutes limit for new users is really annoying 😐

    Thanks, @BartVB! I didn't know about this.

It is a necessary evil to keep spammers in check, the restriction is removed once you reach a certain reputation (3 on this forum).

@baris I understand that, but aren't the measures in the registration process enough for this? Since we added a (custom) registration question to our registration form the number of spammers we see dropped to almost zero.
Limiting the post rate of new users is sending a strong "Don't be very active on this site" signal. I don't think most forum admins are after that sentiment πŸ™‚ I know it's temporary, but still it kind of sets the tone.

@bartvb Well that's why it's a setting the admin can change, if it is set to 0 then they can post like regular users. The registration steps can still be bypassed by a human spammer then they can start posting spam, this setting just makes sure they get some approval from the community before being able to post freely.

The post restriction is lifted once you reach 3 reputation (though I suppose you could lower this to one)... while the CAPTCHAs and registration questions drop automated spambot use to nil, manual spammers still do occur, and when they do, they only end up posting once because they don't want to wait around to be able to post again πŸ˜„
