How do I set up email notifications for messages and new replies to posts?

Hi,
I am trying to set up email notifications to users whenever they get

1. New Direct Messages
2. Replies to topics they are following
3. Weekly digests

I also need an unsubscribe option for users to opt out of the emails if they wish to do so. Can I further customise it to allow users to optout of a particular type of emails, like opt-out of only weekly digests but keep notifs for DM's etc..!

Please let me know how I can achieve this. The emails section in ACP is not very intuitive.

Gotta download the email plugin for SMTP.

Fill it out with your info, or another client instead of local. (I use Amazon SES SMTP account details.)
