"At a rally this evening near Green Bay, Wisconsin, Trump said his team had advised him to stop talking about how he was going to protect women by ending crime and making sure they don’t have to be 'thinking about abortion.”'

"Across battlegrounds, there is a 10-point gender gap in early voting so far: Women account for roughly 55 percent of the early vote, while men are around 45 percent, according to a Politico analysis of early vote data in several key states."

"Why are so many women hiding their voting plans from their husbands? A lot of households are not democracies; they’re dictatorships. This may mean voter intimidation and suppression."

"Charlie [Kirk] is deeply concerned—he said yesterday in an interview with Megyn Kelly—that women may 'undermine their husbands' by letting them think they’re with them, side-by-side, seated comfortably on the Trump train."

Kristin Du Mez looks at the reluctance of men in evangelical churches to speak out against sexual abuse of vulnerable people by pastors. It's almost always women who speak out about this, she notes. And she then looks at the choice of those same men to vote for a known, convicted sexual predator as president.
She writes,
"I get it. It puts church-going men in an awkward position."

"More than 60% of evangelical pastors (the vast majority of whom are men) plan to vote for a sexual predator on November 5. Roughly 80% of their congregants tell pollsters they plan to do the same. Religious people, and specifically church-attending men, are casting their ballots so that the Secretary of Education will report to someone who shouldn’t be allowed within 500 feet of a school."

One of the reasons I worry about online voting where spouses can be over your shoulder when you vote.

the vast majority of white evangelical pastors probably *are* sexual predators
source- i live in the South, & i've heard believers state outright that "Mary was 14," they literally do NOT understand that sexual abuse of children is wrong nor do they even believe that young teens are "children"

@wdlindsy All of these arseholes are so comfortable thinking they can suppress mutual accord divorce, reduce women to second class citizens and everything will be fine… While history proves it twists and turns. https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Angel_Makers_of_Nagyr%C3%A9v

@wdlindsy Only a weak little douchebag would harbor such a worldview... So, about 30 to 45% of American men then?
To women everywhere: vote your conscience, for yourselves, to honor your mothers and grandmothers, and to protect your daughters, nieces, and granddaughters

As Sean Craig reports, MAGA bros are freaking out because so many women are voting.
"Two of former president Donald Trump’s most prominent backers in the right wing influencer sphere [Mike Cernovich and Charlie Kirk] fretted Wednesday after early votingnumbers showed massive early turnout among women that could imperil their candidate’s path to victory."

The Fox News co-host told panelists on The Five that if he discovered second wife, Emma DiGiovine, was secretly backing the vice president, it would be 'D-Day' for their marriage."

Jesse Watters said that he would consider his wife voting for Kamala Harris the same as if she was having an extramarital affair. The Fox News co-host told panelists on The Five that if he discovered second wife, Emma DiGiovine, was secretly backing the vice president, it would be “D-Day” for their marriage. Watters was discussing an ad voiced by Julia Roberts encouraging women to defy their MAGA husbands and vote for Harris in the privacy of the ballot booth.

"This week we have seen two deeply alarming incidents of violence, threats and abuse directed by Donald Trump’s male supporters against women at polling locations. And tragically this will likely not be the last given a core theme of Trump’s “bro vote” strategy has been amplifying sexism and misogyny—as we saw again at his rallies this week."

Obeidallah focuses on what happened recently in Neptune, Florida, where a group of teens waving Trump flags gathered at an early voting site to harrass voters, with one teen, Caleb James Williams, pulling out a machete and brandishing it at two female voters.
And in South Carolina, a man has just verbally assaulted Black women working at the polls.

At one point, I hoped the many former Trump officials and other well-known Republicans who have endorsed Kamala Harris might make a big difference in this election by persuading Republican voters to cross over and support Harris. But Republicans have shown a lot of party loyalty in the past, more than Democrats, and MAGA Republicans will show even more party loyalty since they are dogmatic in their right-wing beliefs regardless of the truth. I hope that I'm wrong, or that enough independents vote for Harris to make the difference, or that enthusiasm for Harris results in a surge in her voter turnout that makes the difference.
