"At a rally this evening near Green Bay, Wisconsin, Trump said his team had advised him to stop talking about how he was going to protect women by ending crime and making sure they don’t have to be 'thinking about abortion.”'

@wdlindsy All of these arseholes are so comfortable thinking they can suppress mutual accord divorce, reduce women to second class citizens and everything will be fine… While history proves it twists and turns. https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Angel_Makers_of_Nagyr%C3%A9v

@wdlindsy Only a weak little douchebag would harbor such a worldview... So, about 30 to 45% of American men then?
To women everywhere: vote your conscience, for yourselves, to honor your mothers and grandmothers, and to protect your daughters, nieces, and granddaughters

As Sean Craig reports, MAGA bros are freaking out because so many women are voting.
"Two of former president Donald Trump’s most prominent backers in the right wing influencer sphere [Mike Cernovich and Charlie Kirk] fretted Wednesday after early votingnumbers showed massive early turnout among women that could imperil their candidate’s path to victory."

"Jesse Watters said that he would consider his wife voting for Kamala Harris the same as if she was having an extramarital affair.
The Fox News co-host told panelists on The Five that if he discovered second wife, Emma DiGiovine, was secretly backing the vice president, it would be 'D-Day' for their marriage."

Jesse Watters said that he would consider his wife voting for Kamala Harris the same as if she was having an extramarital affair. The Fox News co-host told panelists on The Five that if he discovered second wife, Emma DiGiovine, was secretly backing the vice president, it would be “D-Day” for their marriage. Watters was discussing an ad voiced by Julia Roberts encouraging women to defy their MAGA husbands and vote for Harris in the privacy of the ballot booth.

"This week we have seen two deeply alarming incidents of violence, threats and abuse directed by Donald Trump’s male supporters against women at polling locations. And tragically this will likely not be the last given a core theme of Trump’s “bro vote” strategy has been amplifying sexism and misogyny—as we saw again at his rallies this week."

Obeidallah focuses on what happened recently in Neptune, Florida, where a group of teens waving Trump flags gathered at an early voting site to harrass voters, with one teen, Caleb James Williams, pulling out a machete and brandishing it at two female voters.
And in South Carolina, a man has just verbally assaulted Black women working at the polls.

@wdlindsy
At one point, I hoped the many former Trump officials and other well-known Republicans who have endorsed Kamala Harris might make a big difference in this election by persuading Republican voters to cross over and support Harris. But Republicans have shown a lot of party loyalty in the past, more than Democrats, and MAGA Republicans will show even more party loyalty since they are dogmatic in their right-wing beliefs regardless of the truth. I hope that I'm wrong, or that enough independents vote for Harris to make the difference, or that enthusiasm for Harris results in a surge in her voter turnout that makes the difference. -

Obeidallah sums up his report:
"First, Trump and the GOP came for a women’s reproductive freedom. Now they are coming for their right to freely vote. Those are the stakes."
The message: We MAGA bros will protect you. You will no longer have to worry your pretty little heads about abortion or voting or thinking for yourself. We're here to take care of all of that for you. You hear?

@wdlindsy Why they want to do away with no-fault divorce... they correctly understand that they are pricing themselves out of any free market.

"When Donald Trump gets pouty and shouty, his aides have a repertoire of ways to cheer him up, like telling him his crowds are the biggest, showing him flattering headlines from rightwing outlets, or watching videos of children being taken from their parents at the border in 2018. But to really help him feel better, there’s nothing like letting him sit in a big truck like a big boy!"

Heather Cox Richardson quotes MSNBC's Katie Phang, who watched Trump's garbage truck shtick and stated,
“Trump stumbles, drags his right leg, almost falls over, and tries at least three times to open the door…. Some transparency with Trump’s medical records would be nice.”

On Friday, October 25, at a town hall held on his social media platform X, Elon Musk told the audience that if Trump wins, he expects to work in a Cabinet-level position to cut the federal government.

@wdlindsy Do we really need to know anything else about these guys? "Oh shit, we can't have women voting we'll lose!"
Ummmm... I know that was the argument until 1920 but I thought we moved on from that.
