/17“The Confederacy Won”: Why Donald Trump’s Reelection Is a Win for White Supremacy, Xenophobia & Hate
Donald Trump has been reelected president of the United States. Ahead of Kamala Harris’s expected concession speech, we speak to professors Carol Anderson and Michele Goodwin to discuss Harris’s historic campaign — and historic loss. “The Confederacy won,” says Anderson, a professor of African American studies at Emory University. “It paints a picture of what Americans are willing to embrace,” says Goodwin, a professor of constitutional law at Georgetown and an expert on healthcare law, who warns of the public health dangers of a second Trump administration and discusses the election’s implications for reproductive rights.

"You have literally empowered the type of man who necessitates so many abortions rather than doing anything meaningful for the unborn babies you claim to love well enough to excuse you from considering fully formed human beings, who annoyingly refuse to stay in utero. And anyway, there are more abortions now than there were before you subjected us to this conduit of catastrophic cowardice that you think will save you."

Placing the blame on white people is misdirected if less people showed up. Harris made gains in the white women vote. It appears less people voted than in 2020. THAT is the problem.

@66gardeners The fact remains and it's impossible to deny, though many of us want to do that: a majority of white Americans who vote elected Trump overwhelmingly.

Perhaps we need to stop thinking of America as a "her". It's clearly a "him" that is driven by hate, resentment, and zero investment in democracy for more than 50% of us.
Just an angry white guy who doesn't want to make the world better for anyone. He just wants to make it worse for those that are not him.
