I guess for vegans the Miyoko cheese would work similarly

@[email protected] I was at rainbow yesterday and they had like four different kinds of vegan queso in jars. I have not tried any of them but I am intrigued
-
I've used their vegan butter for years, it's a great product and I think most people wouldn't know the difference.

@[email protected] I have made it at home, and it's pretty good and pretty easy. but having a jar I can just pop open changes the equation somewhat
-
@maddad it is excellent. She’s also on YouTube giving away her secrets (I think she got kicked out of the co)

@pagrus their ‘chicken wings’ come from a soy product from Layonna, the Chinese Buddhist veg maker in Oakland that I like. It’s very good. They also have vegan clam chowder, mac and cheese. Their tacos are excellent and I also like the burger a lot. It’s impossible but they smoke it and it doesn’t just taste like a straight up replacement

@[email protected] wow that sounds pretty great, my favorite wings are the ones at cybelle's front room, they are the only ones I know of who use the vegan meats from may wah or whatever it's called now, lily's maybe?

@[email protected] but I will check out their burger too for sure

@skinnylatte fresh Oaxacan cheese is such a joy. As a kid I would string it out of the ball and putting it right in my mouth, which my mom didn't love lol
We were just in Oaxaca a few weeks ago and the food was so good.
-
@motoridersd yesss I need to go
-
@skinnylatte how close is that to cotija, do you think? (I can get cotija at the carnicería on the corner where I get the rest of my taco supplies)
-
@darkuncle not as crumbly. It’s more like a firmer mozzarella
-
@darkuncle they prob have it there too
