By the way, for people that want to play around with the #Loops API, here's a list (including request/response dumps) of almost all endpoints (I think I'm missing 3 at the moment)

@pixel I wasnβt expecting this, and even though it violates our ToS, I do believe that APIs should be open.
Officially Iβm not impressed, unofficially I am impressed and wonβt hinder unauthorized 3rd party access.
Btw, you and @h should help me define the v1 schema, Iβm aware of 3 devs who plan to build 3rd party clients and would love your help in an official fashion!
This would normally lead to legal action, but here in the fediverse, you are doing my work for me

@[email protected] @[email protected] @[email protected] wasnt a condition of the NLnet grant that you open-source the whole thing actually

@privateger @pixel @h Yes, and that is the plan, however NLnet funding is still pending my MoU plan which I've been to busy to finalize.
I don't want to give the impression that loops.video will be a centralized platform, it will be open sourced regardless of the NLnet grant, and with full account migration so loops.video users can find a better long term home on another instance
Also, I may use this opportunity to replace the backend with Rust or Go, I've written to much PHP and need a change

@privateger @pixel @h And I admit the whole "won't ban 3rd party apps" is a misnomer considering the federated nature, however I am a marketer at heart and will use every opportunity to spread the gospel about Loops haha
It do be working tho, have you ever seen a fedi project grow this fast from day 1?

@pixel @h ngl, there was an initial temptation to block 3rd party access, but then I remembered I'm building this for the fediverse.
I'm kinda honoured that 3 different groups reverse engineered the API so quickly, and that's what the fediverse is all about!
I'm not trying to get rich quick with a TikTok clone, rather, I want to revive the magic of Vine and give the whole platform to the people so they can do it on their own terms.
And you're playing an important part, so thank you
