In today's progesteroney nightmare, Melon responded to the outrage about wives admitting to pollsters that they wouldn't tell their husbands who they would vote for by founding a polling agency that contacted a selection of 1500 housewives, asked them probing questions, and promptly filed for bankruptcy. Their assets, including records of about 6000 filled-in questionnaires were procured by Durchsichtigkeit Über Alles LLC, a Delaware company, who bought data about the ca. 25_000 respondents' friends and relatives from common data brokers, and prepared ca. 90_000 dossiers about wives whom they said had admitted to lying to their patriarchican and MAGA-aligned husbands or fathers about who they would vote for, of which it then agreed to deliver ca. 300_000 to Tibs Of LikLok for what it euphemistically called "public transparency outreach".
The inner workings of the scheme became public due to revelations of a group of anonymous furries who had discovered that by spinning a palantír fast enough, it becomes a Kerr palantír, takes a toroidal shape, and allows peeking through the doughnut hole to access data passed along the whole palantír network, which the perpetrators extensively used, possibly as a Teter Phiel reference. The reason for the numbers bulking up was, the project was not aimed at "punishing" specific "guilty" women, but sought to create a general climate of distrust so that in he future, people wouldn't reveal sensitive data to pollsters. At each step, new victims were picked quasi-randomly using Cambridge Synthetica's extensive database to semi-randomly guess at people who might "have wrong political leanings".
Strangely, the transparency advocates of neither DÜA nor TOLL were very fond of anonymous furries seeing through them and their plans, so they responded by issuing freeze peach threats.
The Anonymous Furries had a logo, which featured a cat's paw holding a bell reaching out of the doughnut hole of a rotating Kerr palantír, because "in Soviet USsia, the cat bells YOU!". The device on the ribbon under the palantír just said "Miau."

@riley I thought this was real until I got to the bit about spinning the palantir fast enough.

@riley "a group of anonymous furries" doing skulduggery seems normal these days

@gkrnours Yep.

@ryanc That's almost certainly a reference to spinning black holes, which may possibly allow wormholes to exist.

@ryanc It's kind of necessary, now that it's quite predictable that the GOPniks will try to create anti-furry hatred as soon as its plan of spreading anti-trans hatred will collapse. If furries will be a sufficiently major political power by then, they might decide to pick on somebody with less power.
Like enbies. :blobcatsad:

@gkrnours In the real life, Melon's current main skulduggery direction seems to be promoting "Progress 2028", a fictitious list of policy propositions calibrated to rub eager MAGAts the wrong way.
In a better world, Dark Kamala would pick a couple of them up once she's president, and argue that she will be only doing it to "trigger the cons". In our world, they're, alas, all ridiculous and unplausible.

@riley furries can just turn off the internet if sufficiently angered, they don't need political power

@ryanc But consider Evil Overlord List #150:
I will provide funding and research to develop tactical and strategic weapons covering a full range of needs so my choices are not limited to "hand to hand combat with swords" and "blow up the planet".

@riley I need to reread the evil overlord list now that I'm moved into my lair.
