@jmarion Kind of waiting for OpenWRT to make v6mostly a one-click option -- but actually, I gotta try this on the living room PC, that should work even without NAT64/PREF64.

@jmarion I do! Along with single-stack VLANs which don’t have any v4 connectivity available at all.

@mss This sounds like the easiest candidates to convert to v6 single-stack! "eyeballs" computers seem more difficult because there are still services that don't have IPv6 service at all

@alexhaydock I started this with my dedicated NFS VLANs, link-local networks feel like a good v6-single-stack candidate when possible.

@jmarion I’ve found it surprisingly usable for regular endpoints too, apart from a few niche issues involving apps using v4 literals, which can be worked out with NAT64 and a CLAT.

Apple’s CLAT implementation is the gold standard, and Microsoft seem to be bringing it to W11. Now I guess we just wait for someone to build a systemd-clatd or something similar

Yes, via a #NAT64 gateway.
The default in many mobile networks.

@cr @jmarion yes, the #NAT64 is on my #CPE. #DNS64 is only needed for #linux and #windows. The rest already uses the #PREF64 announcement and setups up a #CLAT.

Depending on your CPE or router you can easily replicate this. You can even start with a few of the public #NAT64 gateways.

Luckily I have a static #ipv4 and run the #NAT64 myself.
But for testing and small networks this is an easy way.
