Post Editing

Users can correct misspelled messages with the authority given to users to edit their messages. But there may be people who misuse this situation.
Although the users does not have the authority to delete the message that wrote, they can reset the content of the message. Can we put a limit to prevent this?

yes, you can limit how many seconds a post will remain editable... I think that is the only way...
ACP > Settings > Posts > "Number of seconds a post remains editable (set to 0 to disable)"

@cagatay alternatively you can restore the topic as it was... Sometimes I also think that deleting a post is kind of disrespect to the people who replied the question... however we do not restore the posts... for this very reason, I always ask our active users to "quote" the question while they are replying, so even the original post is gone, people can still understand the conversation, or the information that is given...

Additionally, if the user reach us to delete their quoted posts another unique thing we do is that we change the ownership of the post... We have "bot accounts" in the forum, that no one owns them, and I created these accounts for this purpose...
Because it is -almost always- about user not wanting to be associated with that post, not about giving out personal info... So, when I tell them that "I am changing the owner of the post and this post will not be associated with you again" they all have been OK with this solution...
