@[email protected] how does this affect the existing code contributed by those outside of Redis?
Did they need all contributors to sign the CLA prior to the license change?

@jenniferplusplus Sadly, as I learned just a moment ago from someone else, no CLA was needed in this case: the original BSD license allows you to combine the code into a non-libre overall thing, which is exactly what they did
They do need a CLA from now on though, and yeah definitely don't sign that. Also, viral licenses ftw I guess.

@julian They need that going forward, yes.
Previously, contributions were made reciprocally under the BSD license (which does not have any copyleft provisions, so it's relicenseable), and then later under the Redis license (which I assume gave redis the right to relicense it)
